The School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is searching for an outstanding person to join its faculty as an assistant professor specializing in graphic design. Graphic design is one of three options in the School’s visual communication sequence. Photojournalism and Multimedia are the others.
The successful applicant will teach the School's beginning graphic design, publication design and informational graphics courses and other appropriate courses over time. All of the School's design courses are taught in a state-of-the-art Macintosh lab.
Duties: Teach three courses a semester. Perform other customary duties of a faculty member in the School's Journalism-Mass Communication Practice Tenure Track: creative activity, advising and service.
Qualifications: Master’s degree. Expertise in graphic design and be proficient in appropriate software. Capability to become an outstanding teacher. Teaching experience preferred. Significant professional experience and strong ties to media organizations.
