Fifa World Cup 2006 in Visuals
The Soccer World Cup in Germany inspired some media to produce interesting visualizations and infographics: Time for a short overview:
Spanish newspaper affiliated elmundo.es has a nice package, presenting players in audio-slideshows and key scenes in flash-based reconstructions.
Competitor elpais.es offers animations of the goals combined with the live radio commentary on its animations aggregator page, for example the match Spain vs Tunisia.
St. Petersburg Times includes explainations of terms and concepts in its
soccer interactive.
Danish broadcast affiliated dr.dk has a very nice and customizable animation tool called Virtual Replay
which shows goal scenes in different angles.
German ard.de gives a multimedia overview on the 12 stadiums stadiumsincluding panoramic photos.
There are a lot of facts-and-figures interactives as well, some nice examples:
Sydney Morning Herald
A Reuters interactive - here on abc.net.au.
A dpa infocom interactive - here on faz.net.
